There has been an article widely shared in the Joliet Facebook community that states Joliet High School is ranked #8 in the state of Montana, just one place behind Red Lodge. Our Class B neighbors, Columbus and Huntley Project were not even on the list.

That's outstanding! Right?!

Well, unfortunately this article appears to be generated for the purposes of clicks and marketing.

According to the article, the rankings are based on Niche rankings that were then compiled by another website and then posted on another website.

As you can see, something was clearly lost in translation. The Niche website gave Joliet High School a B- rating, whereas the ranking article upgraded Joliet to a B+. If you would like to compare different schools for yourself, you can at niche.com/k12/compare.

Discrepancies are usually your first indication an article is AI generated. There are often glaring mistakes and inconsistencies.

Another indication is sentences or ideas that just don't make sense, as well as repeated phrases and/or sentences.

For pictures and videos, look for distortions. Arms where legs should be, or vice versa.

Most of all, rely on your own intuition. If something seems off, it probably is. A website not even remotely affiliated with Montana or education, in this instance, is most likely just writing clickbait.

The good news is Joliet High School is still ranking above average on Niche though! And our teachers even get an A!
