Varsity XC Makes Statement at Helena 7 of 7 Meet

Joliet varsity boys cross country turned some heads at the 7 of 7 meet in Helena Thursday. Placing 18th overall, out of 55 teams, and 2nd in Class B, they continue to improve their team score and make a case for themselves as a threat at the state meet on October 26.

Auston Schellig also placed 14th overall and 1st in Class B, surprising both Three Forks and Florence-Carlton runners in the last 50m of the race.

The top runners from across the state race each other in a unique format every year at the 7 of 7 Meet in Helena. The number 7 ranked runners, boys and girls from each team, race in the first race, number 6 in the second, continuing until the top runners from each team, Class AA to C, race each other in the exciting final #1 race.
